Fitness Ambassadors

Meet Our Fitness Ambassadors

The Michigan Fitness Foundation’s vision is to cultivate a culture of health in order to transform and improve the health of all Michiganders. To achieve this vision, MFF selected 6 individuals to serve as Michigan Fitness Ambassadors for 2017.

Here, they’re sharing their health and fitness stories—complete with challenges and triumphs:

Emily Rymarczyk

I’m a newly graduated twenty-something trying to balance a busy schedule with fitness. This year’s fitness focus is on running and completing my first half marathon in October. I’ve ran 16 races since April of 2015 with another 12 this year!

Chelsea Caterino

I started running in high school during team sports when I wasn’t always the most fit, but I never gave up. Since then I have run 7 full marathons, over 20 half-marathons and countless 5ks and 10ks. It’s not always full of triumphs, but I am addicted to running and I love sharing this passion with others.

Arika Hundt-Cole

I studied Kinesiology and Exercise Physiology because I knew I wanted to share my love of fitness with others. I've been lucky enough to teach and train everyone from toddlers to senior citizens for the past 16 years. My full-time job is being a stay at home mom while teaching at FlexCity and Pure Barre. If I'm not at one of those places, you can find me running or trying to find my zen at yoga.

Hannah Haynes

As a full time student while working full-time, life can sometimes be hectic. But no matter what, fitness is what keeps me motivated and energized. I began my path down this road when I discovered I was underweight and needed a change. Since then I have never stopped. Health and fitness isn't a hobby but a lifestyle, to create a stronger and better you. I am very excited to share my stories and hope to motivate others to maximize their full fitness potential.

Rebecca Snay

I love finding new places to run throughout Michigan. Currently, I’m training for the Rock CF Half Marathon in Grosse Isle, MI. As a Girls on the Run Coach and Walk for Kids Project Manager for The Rainbow Connection, I love being able to see communities come together through fitness and outdoor activities! I can’t wait to share my Michigan adventures as a Fitness Ambassador.

Tara Bivens

I’m a Benefits Manager at Grand Valley State University and a single mother of two daughters, 23 and 13. I never imagined that I would one day be a spokesperson for physical fitness. I enjoy having fun with my girls while encouraging and supporting my children, family members and friends in their health and fitness journey.
