Meet New Additions to the Team

Please join us in welcoming new staff members to the Michigan Fitness Foundation team!

Mariama Lockington

We're excited to welcome Mariama Lockington to the Michigan Fitness Foundation (MFF) team as the Safe Routes to School Operations Coordinator.

After graduating from the University of Michigan, Mariama has worked 8 years in the nonprofit sector on the the West and East coasts. Upon returning to Michigan this summer, Mariama was looking for meaningful employment, one that would allow her to continue working in service of young people.

"I'm excited to be a member of such a diverse and multitalented staff, and to become an expert on the Safe Routes to School program," says Mariama. "I'm looking forward to getting out into the community to engage directly with students, parents and teachers."

As a new runner, she's been getting to know the city of Lansing and its surrounding neighborhoods by running the Lansing River Trail.

"I'm looking forward to taking advantage of the trails and greenways Michigan has to offer," says Mariama.

Looking forward to working with you, Mariama!

Meghan Woods

Meghan Woods is also new to the Michigan Fitness Foundation (MFF) team and is our Intern for the Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance (MTGA).

Currently a student at Michigan State University, Meghan serves as President of the MSU Tourism and Recreation Club and is currently working on a research project focused on the impacts voluntary environmental programs have on Michigan ski resort users. This interest in outdoor recreation and sustainable tourism practices are what attracted her to a position with MTGA.

“I'm looking to grow as a professional in the field of tourism and recreation,” says Meghan. “I'm excited to learn as much as possible from the amazing team of professionals at MFF and MTGA.”

In her free time she enjoys outdoor activities, including biking, hiking, camping, and photography.

Welcome to the team, Meghan!
