From Michigan Fitness Foundation Board Chair, Peaches McCahill

JJ TigheToday the Michigan Fitness Foundation expresses its thanks to President and CEO James J. (JJ) Tighe, who has left to pursue a new opportunity closer to his home in SE Michigan. During his tenure, JJ created a bold vision for the organization, strengthened relationships with key stakeholders and led the growth of the Governor’s Fitness Awards and the Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Run, along with Michigan’s trail expansion efforts. We are most appreciative of his service and wish him and his family well in the future.

The Board of the Michigan Fitness Foundation will undertake a nationwide search to identify a successor who can continue to strengthen and expand the Foundation’s well-earned reputation for innovation and integrity, as we move forward in our commitment to improving the health and well-being of all Michigan children, families and communities.

As of September 2, 2017, the Foundation will be led by Diane Bauer, Vice President of Finance, and Dr. Marci Scott, Vice President of Health Programs, who will assume the roles of Interim Co-President and CEO.
