The Michigan Fitness Foundation (MFF) would like to increase the number of local Safe Routes to School (SRTS) planning teams that are actively planning and initiating SRTS initiatives. Therefore, MFF is releasing a RFP to solicit subcontractors for the SRTS program. Selected subcontractors will work on behalf of MFF’s SRTS program to provide the following services to local SRTS planning teams:
  • Direct technical assistance
  • Training
  • Facilitation support
Non-profits, consultants, local health departments, MPOs, and university/college faculty teams are encouraged to apply. The amount of available funds to be divided among award winners under this RFP is $120,000. Five separate awards will be granted averaging up to $24,000. Applicants may submit multiple proposals for working with specific sets of schools, which must be detailed in each separate proposal, based on geographic or other criteria. Subcontractors serving the greatest number of schools for the lowest price will be scored as highly favorable and competitive. Please e-mail Linda Patrick at for more information.
Award recipients will be notified in mid-September, 2013. Implementation of the program will occur during FY 2014 (October 1st, 2013 through September 30th, 2014).
Proposals must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 15th, 2013.
